General Terms And Conditions
Thank you for your interest in participating in Monolith Summer Symposium 2024 (hereinafter referred to as “MSS2024 Event“). Before you proceed to registering for the event and purchasing a registration fee, we strongly recommend you to go through the following terms and conditions document, which will apply to our relationship:
1. Introduction:
1.1 The MSS2024 Event that you have submitted an application to attend or registration request for is organized by Sartorius BIA Separations (hereinafter referred to as “Organizer“).
1.2 References to “us” means the Organizer as the organizer of the MSS2024 Event, and references to “we” and “our” shall be construed accordingly. References to “you” mean the participant attending the MSS2024 Event. It also includes the person completing the registration form on behalf of the participant, as applicable. References to “your” shall be construed accordingly.
1.3 All registrations for the MSS2024 Event are made subject to these terms and conditions, which apply to the exclusion of any terms imposed by you. By registering for the MSS2024 Event, you accept these terms and conditions on your behalf and on behalf of any person you are acting for. A contract is deemed to be made between you and us when the purchase of the registration fee for MSS2024 Event has been processed and accepted in accordance with the Section 3 hereof.
1.4 These terms and conditions are subject to change from time to time without notice and at our sole discretion. We will notify you of any amendments to these terms and conditions by posting them on our Event specific website https://www.monolith-events.com/terms-and-conditions/. The applicable version of these terms and conditions valid for the specific case is the one published on the stated website on the day the participant registers for the MSS2024 Event.
1.5 If you have any queries regarding these terms and conditions or if you have any access requirements for the MSS2024 Event, please email us at info@monolith-events.com before submitting a registration form.
2. The Rules of Conduct
To ensure the best possible experience for all participants attending the MSS2024 Event, we have established some basic guidelines for participation.
2.1 Respect others. Focus on the content of discussion and posters and not on the people making them. Please extend the benefit of the doubt to newer participants; there’s no such thing as a stupid question.
2.2 Respect the purpose of the MSS2024 Event. Use the MSS2024 Event to share successes, challenges, constructive feedback, questions, and goals instead of products or services that you provide. If you’ve found a product or service helpful, please share your experience with the group in a respectful way.
2.3 All defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials are strictly prohibited. Do not discuss anything that you would not want the world to see or that you would not want anyone to know came from you.
2.4 Respect intellectual property. Post content that you have personally created or have permission to use and have properly attributed to the content creator.
2.5 Respect privacy. Act respectfully to protect confidentiality, privacy and information of other participants in order to earn and deserve mutual trust.
2.6 When posting items in our collaborative environment, please indicate if the item is not available for reuse. It’s also advisable to contact the owner of any material if you would like to reuse it.
2.7 Respect safety measures. It is important to follow safety advice, site signage, and rules regarding ‘No Smoking’ areas. Entering active work sites, e.g. the laboratory premises is all at your own risk.
3. Bookings
3.1 To register for and attend the MSS2024 Event, you must submit an Event registration form via our website. All applications to register for the MSS2024 Event are subject to availability and full payment being received. Places cannot be reserved without full payment being received. We reserve the right to refuse bookings at our discretion.
3.2 You must not make or attempt to make any booking for the MSS2024 Event through unauthorized sellers. Bookings made through unauthorized sellers are not valid, and admission will not be granted. Booking can be made only through our website in accordance with item 3.1.
3.3 We and the venue provider reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to refuse you admission or to ask you to leave the venue in circumstances deemed reasonable (for example, behaviour against the Rules of Conduct or safety reasons). We may confiscate any item which we consider may cause danger or disruption, be a health and safety risk, or is not suitable for or permitted in the MSS2024 Event venue. Anyone found in possession of illegal substances or contraband goods will be refused admission to or removed from the MSS2024 Event and may also be liable for prosecution.
3.4 We reserve the right to change the MSS2024 Event to a digital platform when running a physical event is no longer a viable option. If the registration fee changes due to the event being delivered digitally, you will be entitled to a partial refund of your physical registration fee to the equivalent digital fee.
4. Payment Terms
Our registration fees for attending the MSS2024 Event are set out on the relevant registration booking form. The registration fees do not include the costs of travel, accommodation, or other expenses associated with attendance at the MSS2024 Event. Prices may be subject to change from time to time. We will issue you an invoice once your application to attend the MSS2024 Event or registration request is accepted.
5. Cancellations
Cancellations by you:
5.1 You may cancel your booking for the MSS2024 Event up to 14 days prior to the event date by notifying us via email at info@monolith-events.com. Upon cancellation, you will be entitled to receive a credit for a future MSS Event, up to the value of sums paid by you in respect of the MSS2024 Event.
5.2 No refunds or credits will be provided for any cancellations received within 14 days of the MSS2024 Event date or for your failure to attend the Event.
Cancellations by us:
5.3 Every reasonable effort will be made to adhere to the MSS2024 Event program as advertised. However, it may be necessary to change the advertised location, date, time, format, content and/or speakers of the MSS2024 Event. We reserve the right to change or cancel the MSS2024 Event at any time.
5.4 We will provide you with notice of any cancellation or changes regarding location, date time, format, content and/or speakers for the MSS2024 Event. In the unlikely event that we cancel the MSS2024 Event or make changes to the location, date, time, format content and/or speakers up to 14 days prior to the event date, we will offer you a credit for a future MSS Event of your choice, up to the value of sums paid by you in respect of the MSS2024 Event. We shall not be liable to you for travel, accommodation, or other costs and expenses incurred (including wasted costs and expenses) if we are required to cancel or relocate the MSS2024 Event. Our liability for cancellation or material changes of the MSS2024 Event within the final 14 days prior to the event date is set out in section 8 below.
6. Substitutions
You may request that a substitute participant attend in your place provided you have given us at least 14 days prior notice and the name of your proposed substitute by contacting us at info@monolith-events.com.
7. Attendance
7.1 You are required to comply with all instructions given to you by the venue stewards, the Organizer and staff at the MSS2024 Event. The normal statutory rules and regulations apply, and they should be observed at the MSS2024 Event. Failure to comply with these instructions may result in you being asked to leave the Event.
7.2 You are prohibited from bringing into the MSS2024 Event, as well as displaying or distributing (whether for free or not), any sponsorship, promotional, or marketing materials unless specifically authorized by the Organizer. However, you are allowed to exchange your own business cards with other participants.
7.3 In the event that the MSS2024 Event is being filmed for commercial and/or marketing purposes, we will notify you in a clear manner when and where an event footage is taking place. That way you will have the possibility of leaving the venue, if you do NOT consent to being included in event footage.
8. Limitations of Liability
8.1 Liability for the cancellation or material changes of the MSS2024 Event will be limited to a refund as set out in this section 8. A ‘material’ change is a change in advertised location, date, time, format, content and/or speakers that we consider, in our reasonable opinion, makes the MSS2024 Event materially different from what participants as a whole would ordinarily expect.
8.2. We have no liability for any cancellation or changes made as a result of an incident or circumstance outside our control, (force majeure), specifically related to the MSS2024 Event.
8.3 Our aggregate liability to you, whether arising in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, for any damages, loss, costs, claims, or expenses of any kind arising out of or in connection with any booking (or requested booking) made by you or otherwise related to the MSS2024 Event, shall be limited to the registration fee we received from you in respect of the Event. We shall not be liable to you for (i) any loss of profit, loss of or damage to data, loss of anticipated savings or interest, loss of or damage to reputation or goodwill, or (ii) any indirect, special, or consequential damages, loss, costs, claims, or expenses of any kind.
8.4 Personal arrangements, including travel, subsistence, and accommodation, made by you in relation to the MSS2024 Event are made at your own risk. Neither we nor the venue operator will have any liability for any loss of enjoyment or wasted expenditure, in addition to refunding the registration fee we received from you. In the event of a cancellation occurring part-way through the Event, you may only be entitled to a refund of a portion of the registration fee we received from you. We recommend that you conclude a separate travel insurance policy for such risk.
8.5 We do not accept responsibility for any accident, injury, or loss suffered while attending the MSS2024 Event, unless it is directly due to negligence by us. Nothing in this agreement shall limit any liability under this agreement that cannot legally be limited under applicable law, including but not limited to liability for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence. This includes Workshops which take place in the laboratory. To ensure the safety of you and the participants, we can refuse you to enter the premises. People that are immune compromised, had surgery or pregnant women must tell the Organizer about their conditions. The refund will not be issued, for any refusal based on such condition.
8.6 You agree to indemnify us, our staff, and our affiliates and hold us harmless to the fullest extent permitted by law against all loss, costs, claims, or expenses of any kind arising from any act or omission by you (including your participants) during or otherwise in relation to the MSS2024 Event.
8.7 We will not be in breach of these terms and conditions, nor liable for a delay in performing or failure to perform any of our obligations under these terms and conditions, if such delay or failure results from an incident or circumstance beyond our reasonable control. The timeframe for delivery by us will be extended by a reasonable period in such cases.
8.8 We do not actively monitor the MSS2024 Event for inappropriate discussions and do not on its own undertake editorial control of posters. However, in the event that any inappropriate poster is brought to our attention we will take all appropriate action.

We accept no responsibility for any loss incurred from the use of the Custom Materials or any other materials or information obtained at the MSS2024 Event.
9.3 By agreeing to these Terms & Conditions during your registration and participation in the MSS2024 Event, you consent to the “Custom Materials” being (i) shared with all event participants and sponsors following the completion of the event (subject to permissions from other owners), and (ii) used as future marketing or promotional materials to promote MSS events. If you do not wish for your video or sound to be included in the event recording, you will have the possibility of leaving the venue prior to the beginning of the recording, according to our privacy policy.

11.4 These terms and conditions do not create, nor shall they be construed as creating, any partnership or agency relationship between us.
11.5 We may contact you by email or provide information by posting notices on our website. You agree and acknowledge that such electronic means of communication are sufficient for providing you with any notice or other information under these terms and conditions and to fulfil our contractual obligations to you.
11.6 These terms and conditions, as well as any dispute arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter, whether of a contractual or non-contractual nature, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Slovenia. Both parties irrevocably agree that the courts of Slovenia will have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms and conditions.
